We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Agriculture

Location: Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the overall strategy for SME and Agriculture lending / business lines to achieve the bank’s growth targets, profitability, and financial inclusion goals.
  • Oversee the origination, appraisal, approval, disbursement, and monitoring of SME and Agric loans, ensuring adherence to credit policies, risk thresholds, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., from CBN and NDIC).
  • Build and manage a high-quality loan portfolio in SME and Agric segments, maintaining portfolio at risk (PAR) and non-performing loans (NPL) within acceptable limits.
  • Drive business development by identifying new markets, client segments (e.g., farmers, agro-traders, processors, cooperatives), and partnerships (e.g., with farmer groups, input suppliers, or aggregators).
  • Develop and oversee tailored financial products for SME and Agric clients, such as working capital loans, asset financing, value chain financing, seasonal agric loans, or group lending models.
  • Achieve set targets for deposit mobilization (where applicable), loan book growth, fee income, and asset quality.
  • Prepare regular reports on portfolio performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations for management and the board.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s or MBA preferred) in Business Administration, Finance, Agriculture, Economics, Banking, or related fields.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ACIB, ACCA, or risk management certifications) are advantageous.
  • Strong track record of growing loan portfolios, managing credit risk, and achieving targets in SME and/or Agric segments.
  • Deep understanding of Nigerian agric value chains, SME challenges (e.g., informality, lack of collateral), and microfinance principles.
