Job Description
- The Deputy General Manager (DGM) – E-Commerce is responsible for driving the growth, strategy, and operational efficiency of the company’s e-commerce logistics services.
- The role focuses on developing partnerships with online merchants, improving last-mile delivery solutions, optimising fulfilment processes, and ensuring seamless logistics support for e-commerce businesses.
Key Responsibilities
E-Commerce Business Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the company’s e-commerce logistics services.
- Identify market opportunities and trends within the e-commerce and digital retail ecosystem.
- Drive initiatives that increase parcel volume, merchant partnerships, and revenue growth.
Merchant Acquisition & Partnerships:
- Lead the acquisition and onboarding of e-commerce merchants and corporate clients.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with online retailers, marketplaces, and digital businesses.
- Negotiate service agreements and commercial terms with key partners.
Operational Coordination:
- Work closely with logistics operations teams to ensure efficient fulfilment, sorting, and last-mile delivery.
- Improve service levels, delivery timelines, and parcel handling processes for e-commerce shipments.
- Coordinate with warehouse and hub teams to support order fulfilment and inventory movement.
Technology & Platform Integration:
- Collaborate with the technology team to enhance digital tools supporting e-commerce logistics.
- Support API integrations with e-commerce platforms and merchants.
- Ensure smooth usage of shipment tracking, order management, and merchant portals.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure high service standards for e-commerce merchants and their customers.
- Monitor customer feedback, resolve delivery-related issues, and implement service improvement initiatives.
Performance Management:
- Track and analyse e-commerce shipment volumes, revenue performance, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare performance reports and strategic insights for executive management.
Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership and direction to the e-commerce team, including sales, merchant support, and operations liaisons.
- Set departmental targets and monitor team performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA or a relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Must have 8–10 years of experience in e-commerce, logistics, supply chain, or business development.
- At least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior management role.
