Job Title: Head Of HMO Business

Job Specification

  • We are looking for a results-driven Head of HMO Business to lead and grow our HMO operations in the healthcare sector.
  • The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing HMO products, building strong client and provider relationships, and driving business growth.
  • You will champion operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster collaboration across teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the HMO business in Nigeria.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address client concerns promptly.
  • Design and enhance HMO products and healthcare plans to meet market demands.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to ensure cost-effective and quality care delivery.
  • Ensure HMO products comply with healthcare regulations and insurance standards.
  • Develop and manage HMO business budgets, ensuring profitability.
  • Monitor premium collections, claims payouts, and cost controls.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the HMO business team across sales, operations, and account management.
  • Establish performance targets, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.
  • Prepare and present business performance reports, including client growth, financial metrics, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote HMO products and awareness campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Management, Public Health, Insurance, Finance, or a related field and a Master’s degree (MBA, M.Sc. in Health Management, or Public Health) will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in HMO product management, client relationship management, and provider network oversight.
  • Certifications in Health Insurance, HMO Operations, or Healthcare Management.
  • Other professional certifications in project management (PMP), business strategy, or finance can add value.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience, including at least 3–5 years in HMO or healthcare insurance leadership roles.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and insurance guidelines in Nigeria, including NAICOM, NHIS, and other relevant policies.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams, drive business growth, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in HMO management software, ERP, and analytics tools.

Salary
N350,000 - N500,000 per month.
