We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Storekeeper
Location: Benin City, Edo
Employment Type: Contract
Job Summary
- The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, tools, and equipment used in construction projects.
- The role ensures proper inventory control, accurate record-keeping, and timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of construction materials (e.g., cement, steel, aggregates, tools, PPE)
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or digital systems (ERP/Excel)
- Issue materials to site personnel based on approved requisitions
- Monitor stock levels and initiate re-order requests to avoid shortages or overstocking
- Conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile discrepancies
- Track and manage the movement of tools and equipment to and from project sites
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of hazardous materials
- Prepare and submit inventory and usage reports to management
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of the store
- Coordinate with procurement, site engineers, and vendors for efficient material flow.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 2–5 years proven experience as a Storekeeper in the construction industry
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Experience with inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.

- Basic knowledge of procurement processes
- Problem-solving and accountability
- Physical fitness (ability to lift and move materials when required).
Working Conditions:
- Site-based role with exposure to outdoor environments
- May require extended working hours depending on project needs
- Adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations is mandatory.
