We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Storekeeper 

Location: Benin City, Edo
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

• The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, tools, and equipment used in construction projects.
• The role ensures proper inventory control, accurate record-keeping, and timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and delivery notes
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of construction materials (e.g., cement, steel, aggregates, tools, PPE)
• Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or digital systems (ERP/Excel)
• Issue materials to site personnel based on approved requisitions
• Monitor stock levels and initiate re-order requests to avoid shortages or overstocking
• Conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile discrepancies
• Track and manage the movement of tools and equipment to and from project sites
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of hazardous materials
• Prepare and submit inventory and usage reports to management
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of the store
• Coordinate with procurement, site engineers, and vendors for efficient material flow.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 2–5 years proven experience as a Storekeeper in the construction industry
• Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment
• Experience with inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Basic knowledge of procurement processes
• Problem-solving and accountability
• Physical fitness (ability to lift and move materials when required).

Working Conditions:

• Site-based role with exposure to outdoor environments
• May require extended working hours depending on project needs
• Adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations is mandatory.
