We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research and Learning (MEARL) Officer

Location: Borno

Brief Role Description

  • The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research and Learning (MEARL) Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing systems to track, assess, and improve the impact of F-CASD’s programs.
  • This role ensures that projects are evidence-driven, accountable to stakeholders, and continuously learning to enhance climate action and sustainable development outcomes.
  • The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement MEAL frameworks, tools, and methodologies aligned with F-CASD’s mission and donor requirements.
  • Monitor project activities and outputs to ensure alignment with objectives and performance indicators.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to measure project outcomes and impact.
  • Establish accountability mechanisms to ensure transparency and responsiveness to beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate learning processes by documenting best practices, lessons learned, and innovations.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations for management, donors, and partners.
  • Provide training and technical support to staff on MEAL systems and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and ethical standards in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with program teams to integrate MEAL findings into project design and decision-making.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in MEAL and sustainable development.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Development Studies, Environmental Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in MEAL roles, preferably within NGOs, foundations, or development organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, accountability frameworks, and learning systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to design and manage MEAL systems and ensure data quality.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (Excel, SPSS, STATA, R, or similar), visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), and Microsoft Office Suite.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of MEAL frameworks and donor compliance requirements.
