We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Manager (Public Sector)

Location: Lagos

Description

  • As Account Manager, Public Sector, you will drive Arnergy's revenue from the government and public institution segment — providing reliable, cost-effective alternatives to diesel-dependent power for public facilities.
  • This role demands a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes, the patience and strategic positioning to navigate the sector’s unique sales cycle, and the ability to build influential relationships across multiple dimensions.
  • You will also identify and respond to tenders, RFPs, and development-funded programmes that align with Arnergy's capabilities.

You will:
Vertical-Specific Sales & Business Development:

  • Map and develop opportunities across Federal and State Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), local government administrations, and publicly-owned facilities including hospitals, schools, and water utilities.
  • Monitor and respond to government RFPs, tender publications, and procurement notices relevant to solar energy and distributed power solutions on platforms including BPSR, state procurement portals, and development partner websites.
  • Build and maintain relationships with technical officers, procurement teams, and political/executive decision-makers across target MDAs.
  • Develop consortium and sub-contracting opportunities with infrastructure, construction, and EPC firms bidding on government contracts with power components.
  • Engage state-level energy agencies and rural electrification agencies for off-grid and mini-grid programme opportunities.

Tender Management & Proposal Development:

  • Lead the end-to-end preparation of public sector bids, tenders, and expression-of-interest submissions in compliance with all procurement requirements.
  • Coordinate with Technical Services, Finance, Legal, and Management to assemble technically compliant and commercially competitive tender packages.
  • Maintain a current library of Arnergy's corporate registration documents, certifications, company profile, and financial credentials required for public sector prequalification.
  • Manage relationships with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), climate funds, and grant bodies to position Arnergy for concessional financing partnerships.

Stakeholder Engagement & Government Relations:

  • Represent Arnergy at government energy forums, public sector trade events, and policy engagement platforms.
  • Build and maintain relationships at the Commissioner/Director-General level within relevant state and federal agencies.
  • Monitor energy policy developments — REA programmes, NERC directives, state energy masterplans — and identify early commercial opportunities.

Account Management & Reporting:

  • Manage active government accounts post-installation: contract performance reporting, project milestone documentation, and relationship continuity.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly pipeline and revenue reports accurately and on time via Arnergy's reporting platforms.

Requirements and Skills
You'll be a good fit for this role if you have the experience below:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in public sector sales, business development, or government relations in Nigeria, with a track record of successfully closing government or institutional contracts.
  • Strong network of contacts across Federal and State MDAs, parastatals, and/or development partner organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and winning competitive tender submissions.
  • Excellent written communication: tender documents, executive briefs, and proposal writing to government standards.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales reporting platforms.

We would also like to see:

  • Understanding of solar PV, battery storage, or energy management systems (full technical training will be provided).
  • Experience with asset financing sales models.
  • A genuine hunter mentality — self-driven, resilient, and motivated by closing deals.
