We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Development Executive

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Head of Sales / Business Development Manager

Job Summary

  • The Business Development Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and securing new business opportunities for GWX Logistics Limited.
  • The role requires a strong understanding of the logistics and supply chain industry, with the ability to identify client needs, develop tailored solutions, and close high-value deals.
  • The ideal candidate will also focus on building long-term client relationships and contributing to the company’s strategic growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:

  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the logistics and supply chain space.
  • Drive revenue generation by meeting and exceeding assigned sales targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow market share.
  • Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and service offerings to prospective clients.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, SMEs, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Understand client logistics needs and provide customized solutions across GWX service offerings.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure and account management.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and retention through consistent engagement.

Market Intelligence & Strategy:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and growth opportunities.
  • Provide insights to management to support business strategy and service improvements.
  • Support pricing strategies and competitive positioning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Operations to ensure seamless execution of client requirements.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to maintain high service standards.
  • Align with Marketing to support campaigns, brand visibility, and lead generation.

Reporting & Performance Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and client interactions.
  • Provide regular reports on performance, forecasts, and business development initiatives.
  • Track progress against targets and adjust strategies where necessary.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue Target Achievement: Monthly and quarterly sales targets met or exceeded
  • New Business Acquisition: Number and value of new clients onboarded
  • Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads converted into paying customers
  • Sales Pipeline Growth: Value and quality of opportunities generated
  • Client Retention & Growth: Repeat business and account expansion
  • Market Expansion: Entry into new industries or regions
  • Customer Satisfaction: Feedback and service experience ratings

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field
  • 4–7 years’ experience in business development or sales
  • Proven experience in the logistics or supply chain industry is required
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
