Job Title: Customs Document Manager (Control Towers)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Customs Document Manager to oversee import and export documentation processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive efficient customs clearance operations.
  • The ideal candidate will manage documentation teams, coordinate with customs authorities and clearing agents, and ensure timely cargo release while minimizing delays and penalties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the import/export documentation team
  • Prepare, review, and approve customs documents including Form M, PAAR, Bills of Lading, invoices, and packing lists
  • Liaise with customs authorities, regulatory agencies, and clearing agents
  • Monitor clearance activities to ensure timely cargo release
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies
  • Handle complex or high-value shipment documentation issues
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical documentation records
  • Provide reports on shipment status, delays, and compliance matters
  • Train and mentor junior documentation staff
  • Drive operational efficiency and process improvement initiatives
  • Support contract and vendor management activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field 
  • MBA or professional certification is an added advantage
  • 5–8 years’ experience in freight forwarding, customs clearance, logistics, and documentation management
  • Minimum of 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong understanding of import/export documentation and customs processes
  • Good knowledge of INCOTERMS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics/customs management systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
