Syx-Brij Nigeria Limited - Our client, Spesa Super Store is a fast-growing retail brand in Ikorodu, Lagos, offering a complete shopping experience that includes a supermarket, bakery, and eatery. Following our successful launch and increasing customer traffic, we are looking to strengthen our growth and partnerships.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Development Officer

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, driving revenue, building strategic partnerships, and expanding Spesa’s customer base.
  • This role requires a proactive individual who understands retail, FMCG, and community-based business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams
  • Develop and implement growth strategies for the supermarket, bakery, and eatery
  • Build relationships with corporate clients, schools, offices, estates, and bulk buyers
  • Drive customer acquisition initiatives and loyalty programs
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to increase foot traffic and sales
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis within Ikorodu and surrounding areas
  • Prepare business proposals, presentations, and performance reports for management
  • Track KPIs, sales performance, and partnership outcomes.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • HND / B.Sc. in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field
  • 2–4 years proven experience in business development, sales, or partnerships (retail/FMCG experience is a strong advantage)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills
  • Good understanding of local markets, customer behavior, and distribution channels
  • Ability to meet targets and work with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools
  • Must be based in Ikorodu or willing to commute daily.
