Job Title: Head of Business Operations (Oil & Gas, EPIC Projects)

Role Summary
- We are seeking an accomplished and commercially astute Head of Business Operations to lead and coordinate the company’s end-to-end operational, project execution, commercial, and business support functions within the oil and gas sector.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning (EPIC) projects, while driving strategic alignment between business development, project execution, supply chain, finance, and corporate support functions.
- This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in oil and gas project delivery, operational leadership, and commercial management.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in Electrical Engineering and a proven track record of managing complex EPIC projects from tendering through execution and close-out.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Operations Leadership:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support the company’s business growth and profitability objectives.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all business operations across engineering, procurement, project management, and corporate services.
- Ensure operational activities are aligned with strategic goals, client expectations, and contractual obligations.
- Establish performance standards, governance frameworks, and operational controls to improve efficiency and accountability.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all business functions.
EPIC Project Oversight:
- Provide executive oversight for Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Monitor project milestones, resource allocation, cost performance, and risk exposure.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Review and approve project execution plans, schedules, procurement strategies, and commissioning plans.
Commercial and Contract Management:
- Support the review and negotiation of contracts, subcontracts, and commercial agreements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, deliverables, and commercial obligations.
- Monitor project profitability, cost control, claims, and variation orders.
- Identify commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with Finance to manage billing, cash flow, and collections.
Business Development Support:
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify and pursue new opportunities.
- Provide operational and technical input during tendering and proposal development.
- Participate in client presentations, technical clarifications, and commercial negotiations.
- Support strategic partnerships with OEMs, contractors, and industry stakeholders.
Supply Chain and Procurement Management:
- Oversee procurement planning and vendor management.
- Ensure timely sourcing and delivery of materials and equipment.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost efficiency and quality assurance.
- Monitor inventory, expediting, and logistics activities.
Financial Performance Management:
- Develop operational budgets and monitor expenditure.
- Track project margins, overhead costs, and profitability.
- Review monthly operational and financial performance reports.
- Ensure effective utilization of company resources.
People Leadership and Organizational Development:
- Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, procurement personnel, and support teams.
- Define KPIs and performance expectations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
- Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
HSE and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a zero-incident culture.
- Ensure adherence to ISO standards and client quality specifications.
- Lead operational risk reviews and corrective actions.
Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as a key interface with clients, consultants, OEMs, subcontractors, and regulators.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships.
- Provide executive updates to management on operational performance and project status.
Corporate Governance and Reporting:
- Prepare and present operational dashboards, project status reports, and strategic updates.
- Monitor key business metrics and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering (required).
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, COREN, NSE, or MBA are highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15–20 years of progressive experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Extensive experience managing EPC/EPIC projects.
- Proven track record in operational leadership, project execution, and commercial management.
- Experience working with IOCs, EPC contractors, and major oil and gas clients.
- Strong exposure to tendering, contract administration, and procurement.
