Job Title: Chef

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Chef will be responsible for preparing a variety of local and continental dishes, maintaining food quality and consistency, and ensuring top-level hygiene and kitchen organization.
  • The ideal candidate must be experienced, fast, creative, and able to work in a busy food service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of break fast and lunch meals according to Spesa’s menu
  • Ensure food tastes great, looks presentable, and is served on time
  • Maintain consistency in portion size, taste, and presentation
  • Supervise kitchen assistants and ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Monitor food stock and inform management when supplies are low
  • Ensure proper food storage and handling to prevent waste and spoilage
  • Maintain strict kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
  • Keep cooking equipment clean and in good working condition
  • Suggest new menu ideas and improvements when necessary
  • Work with the Eatery Manager to meet daily sales and customer satisfaction goals.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience as a chef or cook in a restaurant, eatery, or food service business
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian dishes(rice meals, soups, swallow, sauces, grills, etc.)
  • Ability to prepare meals inlarge quantities without compromising quality
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Good time management and multitasking skills
  • Must be physically fit and able to stand for long hours
  • Must reside in Ikorodu or nearby areas.
