Job Brief
- We are seeking a Project Officer who will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and reporting mini-grid projects.
- The role involves budget tracking, regulatory compliance, grant and tender management, and performance evaluation of project sites to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning, Monitoring & Reporting:
- Develop detailed project plans and timelines
- Monitor project progress on a weekly basis
- Prepare and submit monthly stakeholder reports
- Ensure high reporting compliance (≥95%)
Project Budget Management:
- Track project budgets against actual expenditures
- Conduct variance analysis at each project milestone
- Provide insights to support financial decision-making
Regulatory & Compliance Management:
- Initiate and manage all regulatory and compliance documentation
- Ensure accurate and complete submission of grant-related documents
- Maintain minimal documentation errors (≤2%)
- Ensure timely review and submission of all compliance requirements
Grant & Tender Applications:
- Identify and process eligible grant and tender opportunities
- Prepare and submit applications before deadlines
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation
- Maintain error rates below 5%
Grant Claims Management:
- Process and submit grant claims within deadlines
- Ensure all claims are accurate and well-documented
- Maintain error rates below 2%
Site Performance Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Generate and distribute monthly site performance reports
- Ensure high data accuracy (≥98%)
- Identify underperforming sites and recommend corrective actions
- Support implementation of performance improvement strategies
Productive Use Equipment (PUE) Monitoring:
- Track and analyze energy consumption before and after PUE deployment
- Evaluate the impact of PUEs on business performance
- Prepare monthly reports on PUE performance and consumption trends
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1–3 years’ experience in project management, preferably in energy or mini-grid projects
- Experience with grant management and regulatory compliance is an added advantage
