Job Summary

  • Our client is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and organized Account/Inventory Officer to join their team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounting and inventory management and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring proper stock control and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock records.
  • Monitor stock movements and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Prepare and update inventory reports regularly.
  • Record and track purchases, sales, and stock usage.
  • Assist with basic accounting and bookkeeping activities.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual stock counts and audits.
  • Ensure proper documentation of inventory transactions.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely replenishment requests.
  • Verify goods received and ensure they match purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of inventory and accounting records.
  • Track damaged, expired, or obsolete stock and prepare reports accordingly.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and management reports.
  • Reconcile inventory records with physical stock and accounting records.
  • Assist in monitoring operational costs and identifying areas for cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with internal inventory control procedures and company policies.
  • Coordinate stock transfers between locations and maintain accurate records.
  • Generate periodic inventory valuation and stock movement reports.
  • Assist during external and internal audits by providing required documentation and records.
  • Perform other accounting, inventory, and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum educational qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in accounting, inventory management, stock control, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, stock management systems, and basic accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting or inventory management software.
  • Experience using ERP, inventory management, or accounting software is an added advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to reconcile data and identify discrepancies accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain proper documentation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or FMCG environment will be an added advantage.
