ECI work across Health/ Nutrition, Education, Food Security and livelihood, Wash, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Peace building Conflict Resolution, Climate change Adaptation and Environmental Sustainability, Protection, with strong focus on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: ICT Officer (Volunteer)
Locations: Gombi, Hong, Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika, and Madagali LGA - Adamawa
Employment Type: Volunteer
Key and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day to day management ofECI social media handles.
- Manage installation of software on mission computers eg. Anti-virus, office site and other software for mission.
- Conduct weekly newsletter.
- Conduct online activities publication.
- Facilitating internet subscriptions, managing local networks (LAN) and setting up email addresses according to ECI standard.
- Tracking IT inventory, ensuring data confidentiality, and maintaining functional communication equipment in safe room.
- Providing technical guidance to staff and ensuring uniformity in digital tools and email signature.
- Resolve all staff issues regarding software on misssion computer system.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on the use of new software.
Network & Management , Maintenance and Repairs of IT and Communication Equipment Connectivity:
- Ensure timely creation of email address for staff when request.
- Manage password database for email mission.
- Manage installation , removal and any other related issues to emails.
- Assist new staff in the installtion of email signature and facilitate the uniformity of email signatures according to ECI standards and guidelines.
Payment and renewal of internet and communication subscription:
- Ensure the configuration of mission contact liaise on mobile phone.
- Monitor internet consumption, make recommendation on internet use, restrictions and facilitate the timely renewal of internet subscription.
- Liaise with internet service provider in case of any problems or inadequacies on the internet across all PUL bases.
Priorities of the Department:
- Responsible for the day to day management ofECI social media handles.
- Conduct weekly activties newsletter.
- Conduct online activities publications.
- Streamline the use of ICT equipment.
- Make sure weekly backup of all missions laptop are done and recored.
- Ensure a smooth supply of internet connection for all the base.
Documentation and reporting:
- Maintain good recor of missions passwords and ensure utmost integrity and accountability in the use of ECI software licenses.
- Maintain accurate record of all missions ICT and communication equipment.
- Hare report to the HR Officer on monthly basis.
- Archive and centralized departmental files related to ICT and communication.
Qualifications / Core Requirements
- A Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, ICT, Information Management, or related fields.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, Hausa is a plus.
- Good knowledge and understanding of DO NO HARM principles and established international child protection standards (especially UNICEF).
Experience:
- Experience in IT support or Administration, ideally with non-profit (NGO) organizations or private tech companies.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
- Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
- Skills in training and management.
- Proficiency in the use of computers (MS Word, Excel, Power Point Presentation).
- Should be multitasking and can work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to provide quality and timely support and services.
- Professionalism and flexible attitude to work.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of humanitarian sector.
- Ability in aligning environment with few support services.
- Experience working with donor funded project.
- Ability to speak English fluently, Hausa and other local languages desirable.
Organizational Requirements:
- The post holder will, at all times, carry out his/her responsibilities with the utmost respect for the protection of children by the ECI’s Child and Vulnerable Person/persons Safeguarding Policy.
- The post holder will be required to respect ethnic and racial differences during and after work hours.
- The post holder will report to the Program Manager.
- To be committed to and share in the outworking of ECI’s Vision, Mission and Values.
- The post holder will be expected to behave according to ECI’s ‘Code of Conduct’.
