Job Title: Commercial Director
Location: Lagos
About the Role
- We are looking for a commercially driven and strategically minded Commercial Director to lead our go-to-market function and accelerate revenue growth.
- This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of sales, business development, partnerships, and commercial strategy.
- You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape the direction of the business and ensure we win, grow, and retain clients in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Sales Leadership:
- Own and deliver the company's annual revenue targets across new business and existing accounts
- Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing sales and business development team
- Define and execute a sales strategy that targets priority sectors, geographies, and client segments
- Build and manage a robust pipeline, with disciplined forecasting and CRM hygiene
Client Relationships & Account Development:
- Serve as a senior sponsor for key client relationships, engaging at C-suite and board level
- Drive account expansion strategies to increase wallet share across existing clients
- Oversee contract negotiations, commercial structuring, and renewal cycles
- Ensure a consistently excellent client experience that supports retention and referral
Commercial Strategy & Pricing:
- Develop the company's commercial framework including pricing models, rate card strategy, and deal structures
- Evaluate and pursue new revenue streams — including managed services, productised offerings, and partnerships
- Work with delivery and finance teams to ensure proposals are commercially sound and margin-positive
- Conduct market analysis to identify competitive positioning and growth opportunities
Partnerships & Alliances:
- Build and manage a network of strategic technology and channel partnerships (e.g. Microsoft, AWS, Salesforce, ServiceNow)
- Develop joint go-to-market plans with key partners to drive mutual pipeline
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in the media
Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Sit on the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to overall business strategy
- Collaborate with Delivery, Technology, and Marketing to ensure commercial and operational alignment
- Set and track commercial KPIs, reporting regularly to the board on performance and outlook
- Champion a culture of accountability, ambition, and client-centricity across the organisation
Requirements
What We’re Looking For Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive commercial experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior sales or commercial leadership role
- Strong track record of driving revenue growth in an IT services, technology consulting, or professional services environment
- Demonstrable experience winning large, complex consulting engagements (£1M+ TCV)
- Experience building and leading sales teams of 10+ people
Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional commercial acumen with the ability to structure complex deals and negotiate at the highest levels
- Strategic thinker who can also execute — comfortable operating at both 30,000 feet and in the detail
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; a credible and persuasive presence with clients and partners
- Data-driven approach to pipeline management and revenue forecasting
- Strong leadership qualities — able to inspire, develop, and hold a team accountable
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action
Desirable:
- Experience selling into specific verticals such as financial services, public sector, healthcare, or retail
- Familiarity with major technology ecosystems (Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, Salesforce, SAP)
- Existing network of senior client and partner relationships in the UK/European market
- MBA or equivalent business qualification.
