Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner

Location: Akowonjo, Lagos

Reports to: Group Human Resources Manager

Job Summary

  • The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the key HR representative for assigned business units and acts as a strategic partner to management in driving organizational performance through effective people management practices.
  • The role is responsible for implementing HR strategies, managing employee relations, supporting talent acquisition and development, driving performance management, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.
  • The HRBP will work closely with the Group Human Resources Manager to execute group-wide HR initiatives and support the achievement of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders and departmental heads to align HR initiatives with organizational goals and operational requirements.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned business units and provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Support the Group Human Resources Manager in the implementation of group-wide HR strategies, policies, procedures, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection processes to attract, hire, and retain high-performing talent.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation in compliance with organizational and statutory requirements.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives aimed at improving workplace culture, morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor performance management systems and processes across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
  • Analyze HR metrics, workforce trends, and employee data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
  • Prepare and submit periodic HR reports to the Group Human Resources Manager.
  • Identify training and development needs and coordinate the implementation of learning and development programs.
  • Support workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Administer compensation and benefits processes and support periodic salary reviews and benchmarking exercises.
  • Interpret and communicate HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across all assigned business units.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Support change management initiatives and organizational restructuring projects as required.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to improve employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Monitor and continuously improve HR processes, systems, and service delivery standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or an equivalent HR qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, HR policies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, talent development, and HR operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
