We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location:  Lagos

Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:

  • Convert commercial priorities into executable operational plans, workflows, and delivery schedules.
  • Own resource planning, coordination, and deployment to optimize capacity and productivity
  • Set and enforce operational standards across all functions.
  • Drive cross-functional accountability to ensure delivery commitments are met consistently.
  • Establishes and enforces operating rhythms (planning cycles, delivery cadences, performance reviews)
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for all operational delivery failures or risks.

Service Delivery & Excellence:

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of organizational services, programs, projects, and client commitments.
  • Ensure all deliverables are executed on time, within scope, and in accordance with agreed quality standards and client expectations.
  • Drive service quality in ways that enhance client retention, satisfaction, and expansion opportunities
  • Ensure every delivery reinforces commercial credibility and strengthens client relationships
  • Resolve operational bottlenecks and escalate critical delivery risks where required.

Budget & Financial Stewardship:

  • Own all operational budgets across functions — allocate, manage, and optimise.
  • Approve operational expenditure within agreed authority levels.
  • Partner with Corporate Services Director on financial reporting and cost controls.
  • Make data-driven investment decisions that prioritise operational efficiency and scale.

Process & Systems Design:

  • Lead the design and implementation of SOPs, governance frameworks, and workflow systems across the organisation.
  • Identify and close operational gaps before they become delivery risks.
  • Champion the adoption of technology and digital tools to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure all processes are documented, scalable, and consistently enforced.

Team Leadership and Accountability:

  • Build and lead high-performing operational teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and execution excellence.
  • Support leadership capability development within operational teams.
  • Ensure operational clarity, role alignment, and performance management.
  • Promote collaboration and execution discipline across teams

Procurement & Vendor Management:

  • Own supplier relationships and vendor performance from an operational standpoint.
  • Sign off on operational supplier contracts within defined authority limits.
  • Partner with the Corporate Services Director on procurement governance and contract terms.
  • Drive cost efficiency across the supply base without compromising delivery quality.

Strategic Partnership:

  • Serve as the CEO's operational sounding board — stress-test strategic ambitions against operational reality.
  • Represent operational considerations in all strategic planning conversations.
  • Translate approved strategy into operational plans within defined timelines.
  • Lead operational planning for new business, partnerships, and market expansion.

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's or postgraduate Degree in Business Engineering, Economics, Project Management or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years in senior operational or general management roles, with at least 5 years at executive level
  • Proven experience leading multi-functional operations in a high-growth or organisational transformation environment
  • Strong financial acumen — direct experience owning P&L, managing budgets, and driving cost control at scale
  • Track record of designing and implementing operational systems, SOPs, and process improvements across an organisation
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership — demonstrated ability to align, hold accountable, and develop functional heads across diverse disciplines
  • Experience in creative, marketing, events, media, or services industries is a strong advantage
  • Proficiency in operational and project management technology tools.
