Job Title: Facility Officer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Facility Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, safety, and security of the company's office buildings, residential properties, and other facilities.
  • The role involves coordinating maintenance activities, supervising service providers, managing facility assets, and ensuring a clean, safe, and functional environment for staff, clients, and occupants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect company offices, residential properties, and project facilities regularly to ensure they are in good condition.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of buildings, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Monitor the performance of contractors, technicians, cleaners, security personnel, and other service providers.
  • Ensure plumbing, electrical, HVAC, generators, elevators, and other building systems are functioning properly.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility-related complaints.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and service schedules.
  • Monitor the condition of company assets and recommend repairs or replacements where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and report potential hazards.
  • Coordinate office space allocation, furniture arrangement, and facility improvements.
  • Monitor utility consumption and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Manage inventory of facility supplies, cleaning materials, and maintenance equipment.
  • Prepare periodic facility inspection and maintenance reports.
  • Assist in developing and implementing facility management policies and procedures.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities and coordinate responses to facility-related incidents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Facility Management, Estate Management, Engineering, Building Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in facility management, property management, or building maintenance.
  • Professional certification in Facility Management or related fields is an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of building maintenance and facility operations.
  • Understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to supervise contractors and service providers effectively.
  • Good report writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
