We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: User Onboarding Officer (Fintech & Microfinance Bank)

Locations: Abuja (FCT)  and Lagos

Position Overview

  • We are seeking a proactive User Onboarding Officer with a minimum of 2 years of experience in fintech, a microfinance bank (MFB), or a traditional bank.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding new users through the registration, verification, and account activation process, ensuring compliance with Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
  • This role is critical to driving user adoption and retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • User Registration & Activation: Guide new users through the end-to-end onboarding process, including account creation, document submission, and account activation on the web and mobile platforms.
  • Customer Support During Onboarding: Respond promptly to user inquiries via chat, email, or phone, resolving onboarding-related issues such as failed verification or document upload errors.
  • Data Entry & Record Management: Accurately input and update customer information into the core banking system and CRM, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Onboarding Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks or friction points in the onboarding journey and collaborate with product and tech teams to recommend enhancements.
  • User Education: Provide clear, step-by-step guidance to new users on how to use basic features of the app (e.g., transfers, bill payments, savings products) post-onboarding.
  • Document Verification: Review and validate submitted identity documents (e.g., BVN, NIN, utility bills, passport photographs) against internal and external databases.
  • Onboarding Target Achievement: Meet or exceed daily/weekly onboarding targets as set by management, contributing to the company’s user acquisition goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with the compliance, risk, and customer success teams to ensure a smooth handover of verified users for ongoing support.
  • Regulatory Reporting Support: Assist in preparing periodic reports on onboarding volumes, verification success rates, and compliance metrics for internal and regulatory review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in user onboarding, customer verification, or account management within a fintech, microfinance bank, or commercial bank.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems, onboarding dashboards, and core banking applications.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain processes clearly to users with varying levels of digital literacy.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to handle sensitive customer data confidentially.
  • Must reside in Abuja or Lagos and be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, to support user onboarding campaigns.
