We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Baker

Location: Anambra

Job Summary

  • As our Baker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation, mixing, and baking of our bread, pastries, and baked goods, ensuring every product meets our high standards of taste, texture, and visual appeal.
  • We look to you to maintain an efficient production workflow, manage precise recipe scaling, and uphold strict food safety guidelines.
  • This is a fast-paced, early-morning role that requires a deep passion for baking, consistency, and time management, and we need someone ready to contribute to our bakery's success from day one.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Baking & Production Execution: You will scale, mix, shape, proof, and bake a wide variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Production Timing & Flow: You will manage your baking schedule efficiently to ensure retail displays and wholesale orders are fully stocked with fresh products before opening and throughout peak hours.
  • Inventory & Portion Control: You will monitor ingredient levels at your station, practice strict portion control, and properly label, date, and store all raw materials using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method to minimize waste.
  • Equipment Operations: You will safely operate, clean, and maintain commercial bakery equipment (such as industrial mixers, proofers, dough sheeters, and deck ovens), reporting any maintenance needs immediately.
  • Team Collaboration: You will communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to coordinate special orders, manage daily production volumes, and handle custom requests seamlessly.
  • Health, Safety & Sanitation: You will maintain a pristine, organized workstation, executing deep cleaning schedules and strictly enforcing food hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: A certificate in baking and pastry arts is an asset, combined with 2 to 5 years of hands-on baking experience in a commercial bakery, high-volume pastry kitchen, or premium café environment.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of dough fermentation, temperature control, ingredient functionality, and advanced shaping techniques, alongside proficiency with commercial bakery machinery.
  • Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, excellent mathematical skills for scaling and converting recipes, and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Traits: High physical stamina and emotional intelligence to sustain peak performance during early-morning shifts and high-volume periods, a sharp eye for detail, and a reliable work ethic.
