We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Cook

Location: Anambra

Job Summary

  • As our Cook, you will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation and execution of our menu items, ensuring every dish meets our high standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
  • We look to you to maintain a seamless, efficient kitchen workflow, manage station prep, and uphold strict food safety guidelines.
  • This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires a passion for culinary excellence, speed, and consistency, and we need someone ready to contribute to our kitchen’s success from day one.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation & Cooking: You will prep ingredients, set up your station, and cook menu items to order according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Kitchen Efficiency & Timing: You will coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure dishes are prepared efficiently and delivered concurrently, keeping ticket times low during peak rush hours.
  • Inventory & Portion Control: You will manage stock levels at your station, practice strict portion control to minimize food waste, and properly label, date, and store all food items using the FIFO method.
  • Equipment Maintenance: You will safely operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment (grills, ovens, fryers, knives), reporting any maintenance or safety issues immediately to management.
  • Team Collaboration: You will communicate clearly and effectively with front-of-house staff and kitchen team members to ensure smooth service and handle special dietary requests or allergies seamlessly.
  • Health, Safety & Sanitation: You will maintain a spotless, organized workspace, executing daily cleaning schedules and enforcing strict food hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: A culinary certificate or diploma is an asset, combined with 2 to 5 years of progressive cooking experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen or premium restaurant environment.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knife skills, a deep understanding of diverse cooking techniques (searing, grilling, baking, sautéing), and familiarity with operating commercial kitchen machinery.
  • Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (such as HACCP), exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
  • Traits: High emotional intelligence and stamina to sustain peak performance during high-stress rushes, sharp problem-solving skills, and a reliable, team-oriented work ethic.
