We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Import Officer (Manufacturing / FMCG / Logistics)

Location: ibafo, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end import process, from purchase order placement to final delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate import documentation, including Form M, PAAR, Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, SONCAP, and other required shipping documents.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, clearing agents, and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth cargo movement.
  • Track shipments and provide regular updates on delivery timelines and shipment status.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian Customs regulations, import policies, and international trade requirements.
  • Coordinate customs clearance activities to avoid delays, demurrage, and additional costs.
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, finance, and production teams to ensure timely availability of imported materials and products.
  • Monitor import costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all import transactions and documentation.
  • Resolve import-related issues, including shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and regulatory challenges.
  • Prepare periodic import reports and provide management with relevant logistics and supply chain updates.
  • Support inventory planning by ensuring timely replenishment of imported raw materials and finished goods.

Preferred Candidate

  • Experience in Manufacturing or FMCG industries.
  • Knowledge of international sourcing and procurement processes.
  • Professional certification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Trade is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret logistics and import cost data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years' experience in import operations within a Manufacturing, FMCG, or Logistics-driven organization.
  • Strong knowledge of import documentation, customs procedures, freight management, and international trade regulations.
  • Hands-on experience working with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents, and regulatory bodies.
  • Good understanding of Nigerian import regulations, customs clearance processes, and port operations.
  • Experience in supply chain coordination and inventory planning.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or related platforms) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
