Job Title: Vendor Onboarding Officer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid to transition to On-site)
Reports To: Commercial & Growth Manager
Job Summary
- The Vendor Onboarding Officer will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and activating merchants/vendors onto the DropX Africa platform.
- The role ensures a seamless onboarding experience by managing vendor acquisition, documentation, verification, training, and post-onboarding support while maintaining high compliance and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, recruit, and onboard new merchants/vendors onto the DropX Africa platform.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing vendors.
- Educate vendors on DropX Africa products, services, pricing, and operating procedures.
- Collect, verify, and maintain all onboarding documentation (CAC, TIN, business details, bank account information, valid identification, etc.).
- Coordinate vendor verification and activation in line with company policies.
- Conduct onboarding sessions and platform demonstrations for new vendors.
- Ensure vendors complete all required agreements and compliance documentation before activation.
- Provide first-level support to vendors during the onboarding process and resolve onboarding-related issues.
- Work closely with the Sales, Operations, Customer Experience, and Technology teams to ensure seamless vendor activation.
- Monitor onboarding performance metrics, activation rates, and turnaround times.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and prepare periodic onboarding reports.
- Follow up with newly onboarded vendors to encourage platform adoption and continuous engagement.
- Identify opportunities to improve the vendor onboarding experience and recommend process enhancements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of vendors onboarded monthly.
- Vendor activation rate.
- Average onboarding turnaround time.
- Vendor documentation accuracy and compliance.
- Vendor satisfaction during onboarding.
- 30-day vendor retention and platform adoption rate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 2 - 4 years' experience in Vendor Onboarding, Merchant Acquisition, Business Development, Customer Success, Sales Operations, or Account Management.
- Experience within logistics, e-commerce, fintech, mobility, or technology startups is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage multiple onboarding activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
