Job Title: Manager Transmission Planning and Optimization

Location: Abuja,NG

Job Description
Co-ordinate the planning, design and optimization of access transmission links to support sites rollout

Principal Functions

Plan, design and optimize Etisalat Nigeria's access fibre and microwave network transmission infrastructure and architecture to cater for capacity evolution and resilience requirements
Provide inputs in the development of plans and strategies for the national transmission network
Provide inputs in the network evolution strategy towards a converged transport architecture
Produce traffic matrix forecasts and distribution for various services in the Abuja and Kano axes
Manage and co-ordinate planning and design of microwave metro SDH link to support sites rollout and sites upgrade in assigned region
Manage and co-ordinate design of transmission links for site connectivity and minimize dependency levels of sites in assigned region
Ensure all transmission links support ABIS expansion and BTS site optimization in assigned region
Ensure all lines of sight (LoS) surveys for transmission links in assigned region are conducted and approved for sites rollout
Co-ordinate the optimization of existing microwave links in assigned region
Support RF team in optimization of BTS sites transmission links
Prepare management reports on planning and optimization of transmission links in assigned region
Monitor daily microwave transmission links' performance with a view to carrying out optimization as may be required
Develop and deploy processes and procedures for access transmission links
Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinates' performance towards achievement of overall team objectives
Monitor and control budgetary needs of the unit/ function
Prepare and submit periodic activity and management reports for the attention of the Head-Transmission Planning
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head-Transmission Planning

Educational Requirements

First degree or equivalent in Electrical/ Telecommunications Engineering or any other relevant discipline
Relevant postgraduate (M.Sc.)/ professional certifications/ qualifications will be an added advantage

Experience,Skills & Competencies

Between six (6) and eight (8) years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience, with at least most recent three (3) years in a supervisory role within a telecoms network implementation environment
Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent hands-on technical competencies in the following areas;
Mobile technology backhaul at the access, transport and core network layers
Use of Pathloss software for designing transmission links
Capacity planning and traffic forecast
