@Carlos G - The Appointment Letter should be scam because Shell does not use shellnigeriamail.com as their official domain. Please, be wary of the people that sent you this letter and stop communicating with them. The next thing they will ask you is to send them money for one thing or the other. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY! Reputable organizations like Shell do not ask for money from applicants for anything, even to process work permit. Be Warned. Thanks

@Wollie - I bet you, it is scam, you should disregard the appointment letter. The next thing they will ask you is to transfer money for one thing or the other (e.g work permit etc). Please, do not send any money and stop communication with these people. Thanks.

Being a honest hard working guy I had no knowledge of job scams until this happened to me recently:
1. Applied for rig welder job posted on Indeed.com
2. That linked me to NewyorkJobs.com
3. Applied for job by submitting resume.
4. Recieved letter (Your experience is found suitable for (SPDC) Nigeria, but
job posted was for rig welders in Harrisburg, PA.
5. Received appointment letter from (SPDC) on letterhead for my signature.
I signed and returned document.
6. Recieved (SPDC) contract on (SPDC) letterhead for my signature. I signed
and returned.
7. Was contacted by Barrister, Onuya Steve, Immigration Attorney,Mandated
by Shell (SPDC).
8. Was emailed Nigerian Immigration Application which looked authentic. I
supplied all of my information including, copy of Passport, got shot for
yellow fever, (which made me sick as a dog), got physical from my family
doctor.
9. Sent Barrister: Onuya Steve, Immigration Attorney, $1250.00 for
Expatriate Travelers Insurance from Nicon Insuranec Plc.
10. Was emailed a copy of insurance certificate that looks legit however no
contact telephone numbers on the certificate.
11. Sent Barrister: Onuya steve, Immigration Attorney, $765.00 dollars
by Western Union, for filling fee for immigration papers to Nigerian
Immigration Services for Workers/Residency Permit and Cable Visa. I
was then to be mailed the immigration documents HOWEVER.
12. Immigration documents will cost $180.00 for each document times two
to be mailed by DHL service plus $ 500.00 each on each document for
insurance.
13. Never sent the money for the documents. Up to this point Barrister:
Onuya Steve, Immigration Attorney, was calling me every day from
three different phone numbers. area code (705 Ontario, Canada), (+234
Nigeria), (410 Baltimore, Maryland)
14. Now absoluty no phone calls and no emails.
15. Tried to contact Mr. Elliot Ibie, (SPDC) Human Resources Department,
Barrister: Onuya Steve, Immigration Attorney, Mandated by email and
have gotten zero response!!

All you people that are receiving jobs you never applied for, should know that it is a scam. Even if you were lured to apply via their various fake websites, know that Shell will never ask you of money for securing any document for you. And how can somebody be interacting using email other than shell.com and yet you still believe the person. It pains me when people fall for these cheap scams.

Received myself offer 24000$ and allowannce 5600 per/m. Well nobody in Nigerian consulate know mr Philip Nelson when I called them and as well Agip have no Steven Lewis working in their company.

I got a similar appointment letter, and what alerted me was when I found that everyone involved were utilising public emails instead of the Shell.com private email address, and also when I contacted the immigration lawyer, he had grammatical errors in his reply as well as bad spelling.
