Job Title: Senior Electrician/Electrical Foreman

Location: Port Harcourt Base/Sites

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications.
Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
Perform electrical or electronic wiring connections for equipment, circuit breakers, transformers, cabinets and any other electrical apparatus.

Skills, Competence and Experience

Must have a good experience managing high voltage equipment and plants.
Must be able to interpret electrical design diagram.
He must be able to train subordinates.
Have experience in providing on-site direction and leadership for workers in order to complete jobs within specific guidelines.
Knowledge of installation sequences for substation equipment, i.e. HV-LV equipment, cathodic protection systems, electrical control systems (IPCS), UPS systems, switch gears and MCC.

Qualification

Minimum 15 years experienced as an Electrician (with at least 5 years spent in Managing plants and high voltage equipment).
OND/HND in Electrical Engineering.
Must be Computer Literate and able to use MS Office application.
