Job Title: Production Manager

Job Summary
Organize and oversee the milling of rice and assure the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output.
The goal: To ensure that the rice mill and associated production processes run reliably, optimally and efficiently to customer requirements of head rice and minimize defects and wastes.
Responsibilities and Duties
Rice production:
Responsible for the smooth running of rice mill production and associated activities; and the quality assurance of production process of head rice.
Establish workflow policies and procedures that enhance efficiency in rice milling and meeting deadlines without compromising safety, quality or integrity.
Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
Monitor production to resolve issues timely.
Carry out regular cleaning, checking and serving of all production machines and equipment.
Establish checklists for the smooth of all production processes and activities
Identify and initiate repairs and maintenance work and purchasing of equipment etc.
Ensure head rice product meets quality standards specifications.
Planning:
Plan all process and activities of rice production to ensure all schedules are met.
Minimize production issues and costs
Guarantee that rice output meets quality standards and the demanded quantities.
Achieve rice production goals.
Determine the amount of necessary resources (workforce, paddy rice and other raw materials, etc.).
Understand production requirements and realise them.
People:
Determine optimal staffing levels for all production schedules
Develop standard operating procedures (S.O.P.) for all production processes and activities and ensure compliance by all production staff.
Guarantee that new employees are trained on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures.
Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel.
Train and coach employees for overall smooth production processes.
Track and set goals for performance and growth, morale and ethical standards.
Quality Assurance:
Guarantee that all production processes are carried out in line with standard operating procedures to produce rice that meets specified quality and quantity at all time.
Devise procedures to monitor and inspect processes and report quality assurance issues during production.
Assure the reliability and consistency of the mill processes by checking stored paddy, in-the-mill rice and rice product.
Continually appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied.
Assure that all non-conformances in quality are acted upon and corrected immediately.
Safety and Hygiene:
Ensure that all production processes are carried out in clean and hygienic machines and floors.
Implement food safety measures that guarantee zero contamination of finished rice.
Set procedures that assure production employees follow company health and safety policies
Enforce health and safety precautions.
Accountability:
Responsible for raw materials and finished goods variances
Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly production reports to Head of Operations timely as required.
Be accountable for all production hours for which the lines were available.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and MBA from reputable Institution will be an added advantage.
Years of Relevant Experience - 7yrs in the Food processing industry.
