Production Manager at a Growing Agro-processing Company - HR-on-Wheels (Lagos and Ogun)

HR-on-Wheels - Our client, a growing agro-processing company producing healthy and tasty products (plantain flour/chips currently), is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Production Manager

Locations: Asese, Ogun and Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• To coordinate production in their factory at Asese, Ogun state
• Plan and draw up production schedules for the existing production lines
• Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality
• Decide on and order the resources and raw materials that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
• Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime
• Set the quality standards and manage operations
• Set production budgets and ensure that the product will be cost-effective by estimating costs and the projected revenue based on the budget
• Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
• Monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programmes
• Organise the repair of any damaged equipment
• Liaise with different departments, teams and companies, e.g. suppliers, managers, clients
• Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
• Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met
• Work with supervisors and head of the department to implement the company's policies and goals
• Collate and analyse data, putting together production reports
• Supervise, manage and motivate the production team
• Review worker performance and identify training needs.
• Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff

Requirements

• BSc in Food Science and Technology, Engineering or related disciplines
• 5+ years in production management
• Relevant experience in food processing, factory environment, manufacturing processes and techniques
• Strong working knowledge of health and food safety regulations and policies
• Ability to uphold Good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
• Highly organised and efficient
• Leadership and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and numerical skills
• Proximity to Asese and environs is preferred.
