VIO & DVLA Recruitment - Invitation for Interview / Medical Fitness Test

Posted on Tue 20th Dec, 2011 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (151 comments)

The Vehicle Inspection Office Driver and Vehicle Licensing Administration (VIO-DVLA) has started inviting candidates for interview and directing candidates for medical fitness test prior to the Interview for the on-going recruitment exercise as advertized here.

The VIO-DVLA interview for shortlisted candidates is scheduled to hold on 14th and 21st January 2012. And the Medical Fitness Test is expected to commence from Monday 19th December, 2011 to Friday 13th January, 2012 which is prerequisite for the interview scheduled on the 14th and 21st January 2012. But the Bone of Contention is that candidates are expected to pay N1,500 (One Thousand Five Hundred Naira) for the Medical Fitness Test to the Riverland Hospital First Bank account, before undergoing the test. My question is why should candidates pay for the Medical Fitness Test and even if they are meant to pay for it, why should they pay for the Medical Test when they are not even sure they will be recruited after the interview, or are they sure all the people shortlisted for the interview are going to be selected for automatic employment. In most of the blue-chip companies in Nigeria, Medical Test is the last lap of the interview in the recruitment process and the employer bears the cost. I think somebody is trying to get fat on the poor job seekers.

The second Bone-Of-Contention is that the email was sent by Riverland Hospital instead of VIO-DVLA sending the email introducing Riverland Hospital as their official Laboratory center and directing candidates to go there for their Medical Fitness Test. As a result of this, we sent an email to VIO-DVLA via info@viodvla.com as they indicated in their website to authenticate the invitation sent by the Riverland Hospital management, But as at the time of this post no reply has been received and we shall update the post as we receive any reply from them. So, for now candidates should be wary unless they are sure it is not scam.

A copy of the Invitation sent by the Riverland Hospital management is below:
----------------------------------------

I don't know when we are going to get it right in this country. As far as I am concern, medical fitness test is the last process of employment. When Federal Road safety did theirs, medical fitness was the last process and most of the candidates who undergone the test were absorbed by the commission. But the reverse is the case with VIO, how can you go for the medical test before the written test? Something is wrong somewhere.

Dear fellow senior applicants, the first letter of invitation I recieved from VIO-DVLA introduced RIVERLAND HOSPITAL as their medical consultants, after which RIVERLAND HOSPITAL sent in another invitation to me for the medical test in different locations of the 36 state including Abuja.Iam very much convinced that it is a genue recruitment into the federal civil service. About d N1500 being charged pls we should regard it as sacrifice for d job. MAY GOD HELP US AMEN.

It is not a recruitment into Federal Civil Service But State. I called one Daniel in Abuja Head Office who confirm the payment of N1,500 to ascertain the Fitness of each Candidate be4 the Fitness Test Proper. Abuja Office No 2348138138137.

The simple truth is that there is a deal with those Hospitals for percentage sharing of the medical test bill. In any organized and reasonable organization, medical test is the final stage of recruitment process.
Only God can deliver this country!!!!!!!
Imagine 400,000 people applied and 300,000 did the medical test at the rate of N5,000. That is N 1.5 billion.
We need prayerssssss!!!!!! Corporate 419.

VIO-DVLA medical fitness test demands #1,500 after been shortlisted for the physical and aptitude test but have not conducted the test. please is it right to collect money for a test in a company calling for recruitment. first they (VIO-DVLA) say the recruitment is for VOLUNTEERS but now for the medical fitness test payment they say FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT. please how genuine is the VIO-DVLA recruitment.
Pls a smell a ra. to before warned is to befor harmed. im shoutin cos i ve fallen a victim. shine ur eyes

Am not against paying N1,500 for medical test but what am against is paying b4 d interview. I ws thinkin dt d proper tin 2 be done here ws 2 conduct interview 1st, publish interview result then successful candidates wil do d test. Or is d test automatic employment whether u pass d interview or not?

Fellow Nigerians it is apalling to see how some fraudulent individuals can capitalize on the plight of the unemployed to fleece them of the little that they have to sustain them. My cousin alerted me to this VIO job scam and I went through it to see the plot.
First, there is no sense in asking applicants to pay for a fitness test for a volunteer job that has very little to do with one's physical fitness. One will have to first pass an interview before any of this processes i.e if this whole charade is even true. In most of the mails sent to my cousine, I noticed they were particular about the payment of the fitness test than anything else. The numbers they left are personal numbers and the said laboratories are all unknown labs more like a quick set up. Their antics is to divert attention from going to the real VIO office to get the real info. Even the letters are rife with spelling errors and omissions-that says a lot about the person making the claims of being the head of HR of VIO. In one of the letters they claimed they were a recruiting partner of VIO and at the end thesame writer claimed to be the head of HR of VIO, aint that a NaughtyWoman. . .lol
This is pure Scam anyone that falls for it is certified Fool. Guys make una shine una eyes well well this is a big scam, prollt being orchestrated by an insider. Somebody is about to make a killing from people's desperation.

Dear fellow applicants,
I want to use this medium to inform everyone here that has gotten the e-mail or know anyone that got the email about the VIO-DVLA job and medical test payment is a SCAM, the whole exercise is a FRAUD designed to fleece the unemployed population.
The purpoted claims of the letter are all false and have been debunked by officials of VIO-DVLA. They have at no time requested anyone to pay the sum of N1500 to any Riverland Hospital Account at any first bank branch, neither are they recruiting online.
The whole set up is a scam as it is standard procedure that medical test and physical fitness test usually come last after a successfull interview and selection process. It makes no sense to ask everyone to pay for a job they are yet to get or be interviewed for, unless of course there is a sinister scheme that want to decieve people into believing that everyone will be selected irrespective of your performance during the interview.
My cousine who recieved the scam mail has had his contacts in Abuja where the HQ of the VIO-DVLA is situated confirm it that it is a fraud.
NB: Watch out for their agents; they will come online to claim the whole thing is genuine and that they had confirmed, some will even cite instances where other coperate organizations did thesame, these are just a few of the many antics employed to hoodwink others. It is like a syndicated racket with agents all over the states. For instance, my cousin called one of the designated labs in ekiti state only to be told to come with a sample of his urine test in a rubber can when coming. What kind of a quack lab technician do that??
I felt I should create this thread to warn those of us that are gullible, desperate and in a haste to read between the lines before pathing with their hard earned cash to faceless and heartless scammers.
Be warned!!!
Attention: Moderators please put this thread in the front page as it is a warning thread and will go a long way to help the unsuspecting public dodge a bullet.
Thank You.

It is time we took our faith in our hands because VIO will not tell me they are unaware of this happenings, that is how NSITF defrauded poor Nigerians including me of N1K each for emloyment and nothing was heard about it. Well,,, am staying in lagos Am through with the test,,nobody asked me to bring urine,,everything is done through the computer and after the hole test the will print it out and give it to you....so those people saying the ask them to bring there urine are really lying the are just discouraging others cos they did not send them mail for training and the test.....

I just got a mssg 4rm VIO-DVLA claiming that the ongoing recruitment/medical test is not a scam!they also sd all inquiries shd be directed to VIO-DVLA nt VIO in d state.they left a number bt however this doesn't prove d authenticity of d recruitment cos any scammer cud hv done dat n agn why wud they say inquiries shdnt be directed to VIO in d state, shdnt d state officials hv an explaination if truly dis is real?meanwhile am not discouraging anyone here cos i actually did medical test b4 fitness test during d frsc recruitment n sm pple were still taken evn though i wasn't.d admin initially contributed to this n sd they hvnt gotten any response 4rm them.i jst feel we shd chill awhile n see if thrz gonna be any authentic clarification 4rm d VIO b4 wasting our hard earned money on wat we re nt sure of.
