VIO & DVLA Recruitment - Invitation for Interview / Medical Fitness Test

Posted on Tue 20th Dec, 2011 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (151 comments)

The Vehicle Inspection Office Driver and Vehicle Licensing Administration (VIO-DVLA) has started inviting candidates for interview and directing candidates for medical fitness test prior to the Interview for the on-going recruitment exercise as advertized here.

The VIO-DVLA interview for shortlisted candidates is scheduled to hold on 14th and 21st January 2012. And the Medical Fitness Test is expected to commence from Monday 19th December, 2011 to Friday 13th January, 2012 which is prerequisite for the interview scheduled on the 14th and 21st January 2012. But the Bone of Contention is that candidates are expected to pay N1,500 (One Thousand Five Hundred Naira) for the Medical Fitness Test to the Riverland Hospital First Bank account, before undergoing the test. My question is why should candidates pay for the Medical Fitness Test and even if they are meant to pay for it, why should they pay for the Medical Test when they are not even sure they will be recruited after the interview, or are they sure all the people shortlisted for the interview are going to be selected for automatic employment. In most of the blue-chip companies in Nigeria, Medical Test is the last lap of the interview in the recruitment process and the employer bears the cost. I think somebody is trying to get fat on the poor job seekers.

The second Bone-Of-Contention is that the email was sent by Riverland Hospital instead of VIO-DVLA sending the email introducing Riverland Hospital as their official Laboratory center and directing candidates to go there for their Medical Fitness Test. As a result of this, we sent an email to VIO-DVLA via info@viodvla.com as they indicated in their website to authenticate the invitation sent by the Riverland Hospital management, But as at the time of this post no reply has been received and we shall update the post as we receive any reply from them. So, for now candidates should be wary unless they are sure it is not scam.

A copy of the Invitation sent by the Riverland Hospital management is below:
----------------------------------------

Dear applicant, let reason 2gether. Why did they need medical test b4 physical fitness? D reason is dat sum people does nt kwn wat they are physically fit 2 do, let take 4 instance, if medical fitness is carried out b4 physical fitness exercise may b many of our fellow job seekers dat lost their lives during d exercise of other paramilitary physical fitness might nt. Dis is d only reason l culd establish on my own. I received all d mails n av done all d neccesary things.

we r al matured individuals. There is no need to pour abusive words on one another. If this purported employment is a scam, it wil play out itself. If it is nt, it wil also play out itself. The fee of 1500 for d lab test is nt a big deal. To undergo similar test, one would hav paid a little higher dan dat. So,f me, its nt a loss. Yes, ideally, med test is suppose to com last. Frm my understandng, they wud nt want to tak chances as to casualty occurng. So, d state of applicants shud b ascertained b4 d fitnes test. In d whole, individuals r to choose whether to pay on not. As 4 me, i hav paid n don n also got my result. Minm

for me, d best of advice i can giv to any one who cares is: dont look at 1500 frm d cumulative point, bt frm an individual stand point. Some times, it may b true dat som VIO officials in d states may nt b aware. Dis is bcos employment is centralised i.e don @ d top. I once applied f a job at wema bank HQ in lag.wen i wen to submit my CV, i was tryng to locat d HR. To my suprise, most of d staf were nt even aware of d job advert onlin. Therefor, d only way we can comfirm or debunk d rumor wil b on d 14th. Merry xmas!

Here is ur solution to the controvasial issue : go to any of the vio office in ur state tomorrow youself and ask the concern officials directly. Beware of 419 are educated, technical and talented youth who have no means of life than to devout 99% of the time for packaging , i am talking from experience. The hospital mentioned in osogbo is not a genniue one. Do not becos of job foul urself. Remember there is no room for 'i there know!

my fellow job seekers, a lot have been said and a lot have heard. Youths are begining to lose confidence in this country. We are all in state of confution. Nobody knows what to do as regards this matter. I can tel u i am residing in Abuja and we are not far from information. I am one of the applicants whose name was shortlisted. I have investigated the whole excise and now realise is a pure scam. At first, dispite all the omissions and spelling error in the mail that was sent 2 us, the 36 states of the federation were not adquately represented. Secondly, i had an opportunity of refering the whole issue to a vio top rank officer and he told me point plank that is a scam and that the authorities of vio are not ingnorant of it. That the web site used was also fake as it is not vio official web site. Our job we come when it will come but definitely not this one. God help us in this country.

I have gotten all their mails and not convinced that it is not a scam, though I have called Omega lab which is their center here in Abuja and it was confirmed to be truth but something seems to be fishing underneath though I will pay but wont be hurt if it happens to be a scam. My fellow applicant, life is a risk and if u cant take small risk u may not be able to take a big one Or better still pay the money and dont buy the trainers until u reach the venue of the exercise on the 14th of January. Thanks.

The mistake most people are making isthat? They are taking VIO-DVLA state for VIO Federal. It doesn't matter if the medical comes first or not. I have also receive a text from VIO-DVLA stating that their recruitment is not Scam, if you where once scam don't mean every organization is like that. I hv receive a mail and Text from VIO-DVLA introducing riverland hospital as their consultant and if its fake the won't have anytin to do with central area in abuja, not just that where I did my medical is even close to EFCC office so I don't tink is a scam. Is just speculatns.

I just wonder where in hell these aliens came from to deceive people. VIO/VLDA whole thing is a BIG SCAM (am really sorry for you if you have fallen for it).

Be careful, take calculated risks, scammers are out there!!!
