Job Title: Manager, Corporate Sustainability

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Objective

  • The Manager Corporate Sustainability’s role is to assess and analyzes company policies and processes to identify areas where improvements can be made in accordance with the organization’s commitment to sustainability
  • To develop and drive the sustainability strategy of the business and work with managers, employees, customers, and shareholders to address the organization’s approach to environmental responsibility with the goal to minimize the company’s environmental impact.
  • The role provides an improvement in public awareness of a Company’s social responsibility through marketing, and promotion via online and offline mediums.

Job Description

  • To develop and implement an overall sustainability strategy relating to the Organizational ethical, social and environmental responsibilities.
  • To put continuous efforts into building an effective system that is driven by policies and standards for all associate companies.
  • To ensure all CSR processes and policies are well documented and implemented across all business units.
  • To coordinate with respective team members to evaluate the efficacy of sustainability programs; recommend and implement improvements as necessary.
  • To design questionnaires and formats and conduct periodic surveys in the community to assess their needs and also to assess the impact of various initiatives.
  • To identify and work on how the company can balance business obligations with the goal of respecting, supporting and improving the local and global environments.
  • To develop and maintain appropriate documentation and records including budgets and other financials and also prepare documentation required for project funding for various environmental initiatives including proposals and grant applications.
  • To plan communication/awareness meetings at various sites with all stakeholders to propose and implements strategies to address various environmental concerns including energy use, conservation, reduction of pollution, recycling, building and facility design, and general education on sustainability.
  • To build a pool of (educational, charitable, etc) organizations that can help the Company to achieve its CSR objective.
  • To ensure compliance and liaison with, all applicable local, state, federal, and internal environmental laws and regulations.
  • To design training modules and conduct regular training with stakeholders for effective implementation of the program.
  • To ensure the strategy is well documented, communicated and implemented across the applicable level.
  • To ensure all policies and practices are within the meeting and passing compliance requirements of the land of operations.
  • To identify environmental and sustainability concerns, interests, and issues and to consider sustainability proposals with attention to factors such as cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and ease of integration with other programs.

Requirements

  • MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in MSW / Social Work / Mgmt.
  • Post Qualification Experience of a minimum of 10 + years out of which a minimum of 5 years would be needed in handling a similar role in an organization with employee strength of more than 500 employees.
  • Well conversant with PowerPoint Presentations, Excel, and other relevant software applications.
  • Must have exposure to working in a team of 7-10 people.
  • As per the need of the business the job is transferrable and posting can be made anywhere in Nigeria/West Africa.
