Job Title: International Business Development Executive
Location: Lagos
Role Purpose
The International Business Development Executive (IBDE) will seek to define and deliver opportunities for the Group by establishing and developing new business opportunities with international partners and/or clients.
Key Responsibilities
Business Generation:
Prepare sales plans and support alignment of marketing plans in conjunction with the Group Office.
Generate, develop and respond to business leads.
Research and qualify new and existing customer needs
Support organization's international business growth by visiting and liaising with prospective and existing customers
Evaluate and prioritize business opportunities to maximize the Group’s business growth by extending the customer base and increasing sales of multiple products.
Identify future requirements of customers, and advise internal departments to enable the Group to source and provide appropriate professional and profitable end to end solutions.
Provide detailed research and mapping information on client requirements and operate in a timely manner to hand-over to the appropriate departments.
Ensure existing and potential customer client base is monitored and account managed.
Strategy and Policy Development:
Develop an International Business Development Policy that is aligned with the corporate business strategy.
Develop an International Business Development Strategy with an accompanying budget.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work plan, operating manuals.
Drive the group’s international business development strategy.
Business Development:
Work with business development teams to develop leads and opportunities.
Profile and target new international business opportunities from which to develop new revenue streams for the Group
Assist with the development of a marketing calendar to support and drive the group’s international business strategy.
Identify critical changes in the competitive landscape, global marketplace and external business environment that will impact the group’s business
Identify new areas for market expansions.
International Business:
Develop an extensive business development strategy to grow International business.
Work cross-functionally to provide insight into operationalizing and supporting the Group in new markets.
Financial Management:
Develop an International Business Development budget, achieve annual marketing objectives, and report periodically to the APEX executive management.
Market Research:
Conduct in-depth market research to qualify developing business opportunities; leverage industry contacts for strategic intelligence; and assess the viability of potential international business partnerships or project opportunities
Information and Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on marketing operations/activities or any other report(s) related to job function.
Corporate Communications:
Liaise with the Group Corporate communications team to prepare business development presentations and proposals tailored to the audience.
Tracks prospects and provides ongoing feedback to the Group Office via weekly and monthly reporting processes and meetings
Other Assignments:
You may be assigned other duties by the Apex Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Executive Chairman.

Requirements
Education:
MA, MSc. or MBA in Marketing, economics, commerce, or related field required
CIM UK Qualification (Professional Chartered Marketer)
DBA/PHD in Marketing would be an added advantage
Experience:
Minimum of Ten (10) years’ experience in various aspects of business development with a proven track record in brands and sales management.
Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous evidence and adapt effectively to changing circumstances
Proven track record in Marketing Training, Coaching and Mentoring
Proven track record in handling International Business Development projects and assignments
Experience in a similar role in a leading multi-national company for a period not less than 5 years.

Must be able to identify, creatively structure, negotiate, and execute complex strategic partnerships with a wide array of partners
Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to influence change, must be comfortable presenting in a large group setting
Up to speed with current and online marketing techniques and best practices
Customer-oriented approach with aptitude
Strong business acumen; demonstrated success in working with operational key account management
Willingness to be on the ground and field to drive the marketing plan
