Centre for Community Development and Research Network (CCDRN) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nigeria with its head office in Kaduna and field offices across Northeast and Northwest Nigeria. CCDRN partners with communities, philanthropists, government, and donors to provide sustainable community development services in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, livelihood, research, agriculture, health, nutrition, education, and governance.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Director (PD)

Location: Kaduna North, Kaduna (with frequent travels to the Northeast)
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Role

  • To strengthen the project implementations at National and state levels. This position will provide leadership support to the program and operation units, under the supervision of the Executive Director, to effectively contribute to the effective delivery of all projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Program Director will provide guidance, overall project management, and leadership, ensuring coordination of the cost-effective delivery of high-quality programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and ensure CCDRN strategies and activities are evidence-based and in line with state-of-the-art, globally recognized best practices, as well as aligned with the organization's vision and donor's guidelines
  • Provides administrative, financial, contractual, and management oversight for a portfolio of projects
  • Work directly with project and technical leads to ensure projects achieve quality programming and development outcomes.
  • Works with designated Technical Lead to ensure that technical activities and deliverables are high quality and implemented per the contract scope of work and approved work plan.
  • Proactively identifies and analyzes risk areas and advises the relevant stakeholders on preventative measures.
  • Served as the primary point of contact for operational and financial matters related to project implementation.
  • Manages resource needs for performance and encourages collaboration within the broader organization.
  • Responsible for project outcomes by providing the necessary support for target teams to succeed.
  • Participates and provides support to project field teams during strategic planning sessions.
  • Develop proposal and terms of reference as the need arises.
  • Manage budget realignments, contract modifications, and subcontract modifications.
  • Participates in research, pre-positioning, and proposal management for opportunities.
  • Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep the budget on track.
  • Produce reports to suit relevant stages of the projects.
  • Provide technical leadership to the program team to ensure project requirements are met promptly.
  • Work closely with senior staff, providing leadership and mentorship support across all offices.
  • Coordinate quarterly in-house capacity-building retreats for the organization's staff
  • Support the development of an organizational culture that reflects CCDRN's approach to programming; ensure quality programming and promote at all times CCDRN's vision.
  • Promote accountability and establish a structure for program quality management.
  • Coordinate the development of a quarterly plan for ongoing technical support to all sectors across all programs.
  • Support the development of the country's strategy, facilitate its implementation, and monitor progress through biannual reviews.
  • Help establish, maintain, and improve active and regular working relationships with host government authorities, donors, and partner agencies, including major institutionaldonors and local and international NGOs.
  • Work closely with managers in the Regional Office and ensure that communication channels between the head office and the regional office are transparent, open, and efficient and that reporting deadlines are met as required.
  • Support the development of decision-support tools and performance feedback mechanisms for project managers, partners, and beneficiaries.
  • Provide technical leadership in the design, development, planning, implementation, and capacity building of specific technical components of programs.
  • Perform otherduties as assigned by the Executive Director that is consistent with the overall focus of the assignment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Community Development, Peace Building, or other relevant fields.
  • Experienced trainer with significant expertise in capacity development
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant professional experience in senior-level program management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in implementing donor development activities related to food security, health, nutrition, education, protection, agriculture, and emergency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth program experience in technical, financial, and administrative oversight.
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and managerial skills, a high level of independent action, and a focus on innovation and strategic direction in capacity
  • Ability to influence, motivate and collaborate with others
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; and Team builder/player
  • Fluency in English and Hausa Language.
