Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Our client is looking to hire a Business Development Manager - Oil & Gas (downstream) who will be the leader and functional head of developing new businesses and partnerships, developing strategic plans, and communicating business goals with people, process and technology in-view.

Responsibilities

  • Setting the overall strategic direction of the company alongside the board.
  • Driving the marketing, branding, project and business development activities in the Energy, Oil & Gas (downstream), Manufacturing and other Sectors.
  • Planning and implementing long term business strategies to achieve the company’s objectives.
  • Devising short – long term plan and working with other board members to oversee its implementation.
  • Carrying out regular SWOT analysis to mitigate any potential risks through industry or market changes.
  • Speaking at events and exhibitions on behalf of the company (PR).
  • Looking for opportunities to increase efficiencies and speed up processes across the divisional business.
  • Analysing opportunities for growth in market segments to drive profitability.
  • Succession planning for the company to ensure all divisions are managed continuously. 
  • Sourcing for strategic partnerships, new businesses and projects (local & international).
  • Prepare well tailored business documentation (i.e., proposals, pitch decks, one-pagers MOUs, contracts e.t.c.) to drive actualisation of overall business goals and objectives.
  • Improve existing service/product lines and develop new ones.
  • Employ proven strategies to promote and maiantain strategic engagments with existing and new clients/stakeholders.
  • Periodically review all marketing/communication assets and material offline/online to ensure communications are clear, concise and convincing.
  • Prepare and present monthly marketing sales report to management for decision making.
  • Participate in all strategic business meetings and events for brand exposure and to acquire new prospects.

Requirements

  • BSc. / MSc. / MBA in Business Administration or arelated field.
  • Minimum of 10 years proven experience as a Business Development Manager
  • Minimum of 6 years working in an energy industry, preferably lubricants
  • Proven track record of closing big businesses and driving revenues
  • Experience in planning and budgeting.
  • Ability to build business relationships.
  • Ability to build and lead teams.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
