Description
As the Communications Officer at Pullus Africa, your primary responsibility will be to manage communication strategies and activities.
You will play a crucial role in crafting and disseminating impactful messages, coordinating public relations efforts, and ensuring effective communication both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement business strategies in line with overall organisational goals.
Identify opportunities for business growth and improvement.
Participate various projects within the organisation.
Implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience
Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for smoother operations.
Monitor the supply chain to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of products or services.
Collaborate with suppliers and distributors to optimize the supply chain.
Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure products or services meet established standards.
Stay informed about technological advancements relevant to the industry.
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity..
Prepare regular reports for senior management on key performance indicators.
Establish and manage an out-grower network by identifying and partnering with local farmers and agricultural cooperatives.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish direct market connections for farmers, facilitating the sale of their agricultural products through Pullus Africa's platform.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of enrolled farmers, tracking key metrics such as production yields, market sales, and credit repayment.
Collaborate with the technology team to provide feedback and insights on platform enhancements and features that can improve farmers' experience and productivity.
Manage relationships with key partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and input suppliers, to leverage resources and support for enrolled farmers.
Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and agricultural innovations to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within Pullus Africa's ecosystem.
Track and report key performance metrics related to user acquisition, engagement, and retention, providing regular updates to the management team.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or a related field. A master's degree would be a plus.
Proven experience (at least 3 years) working with farmers in an agricultural setting, preferably with experience in operations.
Strong understanding of smallholder farming practices, agri-value chains, and the challenges faced by farmers in accessing markets and credit.
Familiarity with agri-tech platforms and digital tools used for agricultural extension services, market linkage, and credit facilitation.
Strong project management experience, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor programs effectively.
Top notch Monitoring and evaluation skill
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
