Job Title: Primary School Teacher

Location: Woji, Port Harcourt - Rivers

Job Description

• The primary school teacher will be responsible for instructing and nurturing young learners in various subjects, with a particular focus on mathematics.
• This role requires a strong foundation in mathematics education and the ability to effectively teach a diverse range of subjects to primary school students.

Key Responsibilities
Subject Instruction:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in all primary school subjects, with a special emphasis on mathematics.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with educational standards and school guidelines.

Mathematics Proficiency:

• Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in mathematics and the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner to young learners.
• Foster a love for mathematics and provide additional support to students who may be struggling with the subject.

Classroom Management:

• Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Manage student behavior and address any disruptions in a fair and consistent manner.

Individualized Learning:

• Identify the unique learning styles and needs of each student and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Provide additional support or advanced material to students as required.

Assessment and Evaluation:

• Administer and evaluate assessments to gauge student understanding and progress in all subjects, particularly mathematics.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance.

Curriculum Development:

• Collaborate with other educators and curriculum specialists to refine and enhance the school's curriculum.
• Integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning experiences.

Parental Communication:

• Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.

Professional Development:

• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest teaching methodologies, curriculum standards, and educational trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field with a focus on primary education.
• Teaching certification or licensure in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong proficiency in mathematics with a demonstrated track record of successful instruction in the subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective classroom management and parent-teacher relations.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

Experience:

• Prior experience in primary education is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in teaching mathematics at the primary school level is highly desirable.
• The ideal candidate should have a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of mathematics, and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment for young students.
