Job Title: GIS Developer/Web Mapping Programmer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• We are looking for an intelligent, enthusiastic, creative and likeable Software Developer or GIS Programmer to Join our company.
• You'll be working on a range of new and exciting projects aimed at our clients based in the resource management industry, both desktop and web based.
• Ideally you'll have a background or interest in Geographical Information Systems, but if not we will undertake short training to get you up to speed.
• The successful candidate will have the ability to, along with other team members, complete programming and map preparation projects that meet specifications in a fast-paced, deadline - oriented atmosphere.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to write technical and plain reports or proposals is essential.
• An eye for graphics design would be a bonus.

Existential Technical Skills/Experience

• Basic programming knowledge in at least one cooing language or with any of Visual Studio/VB, java,PHP, ASP.Net, Python or Java script
• Knowledge in using GIS applications such as ArCGIS, GeoServer or any other for data loading, manipulation and map production
• comfortable with surveying concepts and their application to geospatial data and mapping Comfortable working with structured data, spreadsheets or databases and have basic knowledge of Data Modelling and SQL (Oracle or PostgreSQL)
• Have first class spoken and written English with ability to write technical reports or proposals.

Beneficial Technical Skills/Experience

• Any knowledge of CAD platforms and data.
• Any knowledge of report creation using Crystal Reports or any other Open Source web reporting tool.
• Any knowledge or experience of using Open Source tools or libraries to develop web mapping applications.
• Any knowledge of Android programming or other mobile platforms
• Knowledge of Cartography, Geo-Visualization, Metadata and Map projections / Coordinate systems
• Basic knowledge of image and vector graphics packages, such as Adobe Creative Suite.

Requirements

• B.Sc qualification or HND, in a GIS or related technical discipline.
• A computer science, science or engineering degree with proven geospatial experience would be considered.

Remuneration
Salary is attractive, dependent on relevant experience and negotiable.
