Job Summary
The General Manager (GM) oversees the daily operations, strategic planning, business development, and financial performance of the real estate company.
The GM is responsible for managing cross-functional teams, driving profitability, ensuring customer satisfaction, and ensuring all property development, sales, leasing, and facility management operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve company goals and expand market presence.
Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Collaborate with the board or executive team to shape long-term vision.
Business Development & Sales:
Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and property acquisition prospects.
Lead marketing and sales strategies to drive occupancy, property sales, or leasing performance.
Cultivate relationships with investors, developers, government agencies, and high-value clients.
Operations Management:
Oversee daily business operations, including project management, finance, HR, and compliance.
Ensure timely delivery of real estate projects within budget and quality standards.
Supervise leasing, property management, and tenant services.
Team Leadership & HR:
Hire, mentor, and manage departmental heads and key staff.
Set performance benchmarks, conduct evaluations, and lead staff development initiatives.
Foster a results-oriented, collaborative, and ethical work culture.
Financial Oversight:
Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Optimize cost control and resource allocation across departments.
Monitor cash flow, profitability, and investment returns.
Legal & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to real estate laws, zoning regulations, building codes, and other statutory requirements.
Oversee contract negotiations, lease agreements, and dispute resolutions.
Project Oversight (if applicable):
Supervise construction, renovation, or development projects.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
Ensure timelines, safety, and quality compliance are met.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Estate Management, Business Administration, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
A Master’s (MBA or M.Sc) is an added advantage.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in real estate, property development, or related sectors.
Proven track record of driving business growth and managing large teams.
