Job Title: Business Development Manager (Real Estate Investment & Financial Services)

Locations: Jabi, Abuja (FCT) and Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager with a proven track record in REITs, property/asset management, and investment banking.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining investor relationships, driving sales of our investment products, and ensuring all activities adhere to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge and exceptional sales acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, including potential property acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships to expand the company's REIT and investment portfolio.
  • Develop and execute strategies to raise capital from high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors, and corporate clients for investment products and REIT offerings.
  • Lead the sales and marketing efforts for the company’s investment portfolios, including creating compelling pitch decks, marketing materials, and conducting presentations to prospective investors.
  • Source, negotiate, and close complex real estate investment transactions, overseeing the process from due diligence to financial closure.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing investors, providing regular portfolio performance updates and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, assess competitor activity, and inform the company's investment strategy and product development.
  • Ensure all business development, sales, and marketing activities strictly comply with relevant statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements (e.g., SEC, NSE, FIRS regulations).
  • Work closely with the Asset Management, Finance, and Legal teams to structure deals, manage assets post-acquisition, and ensure seamless execution of business plans.
  • Prepare sophisticated financial models, feasibility studies, and investment proposals to assess the viability and potential returns of new opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and seminars to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.

Requirements: Education, Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Real Estate, Banking, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) and/or professional certifications will be a significant advantage.
  • A proven minimum of 5 years of direct experience in a business development, investment, or sales role within REITs, property and asset management, and investment banking/financial services.
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully originating, negotiating, and closing real estate investment deals and raising capital.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in handling the statutory and regulatory compliance landscape governing investments and financial services in Nigeria.
  • Exceptional skills in sales, marketing, and presenting complex investment products to a sophisticated clientele.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis software.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, work independently, and manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
