Rec Room Wellness is a social enterprise dedicated to addressing the global mental health crisis by creating safe and brave spaces for relaxation, education, and fun. At our events, you will learn important topics to boost your awareness of your mental health, put words to feelings, and build resilience against the adversities of life. You will also practice self-care activities, learn new hobbies, and create connections with like-minded community members. We also offer wellness workshops for students and staff, longitudinal wellness cohorts, and in-person wellness events and retreats.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Social Media Manager (Volunteer)
Location: Lagos
Objective
To amplify Rec Room Wellness’ mission and engage our digital community through strategic, creative, and consistent social media marketing.
The Social Media Marketer plays a key role in promoting mental wellness, community initiatives, and storytelling across platforms.
Workflow & Availability
Content Planning: Submit the following month’s full content plan by the third week of the preceding month
Scheduling Posts: Prepare and schedule all content for the following week by Saturday of the preceding week, except in special circumstances.
Platform Activity: Daily log-ins to monitor engagement and respond to interactions (15–30 mins/day)
Attend content strategy meetings and required volunteer check-ins
Responsibilities
Develop and implement monthly social media content plans
Create and schedule posts across platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok)
Collaborate with content writers, community moderators, and campaign leads for content synergy
Engage with followers by responding to comments, DMs, and community posts
Track performance (e.g., reach, engagement, saves, shares) and suggest ways to improve
Share Rec Room Wellness’ campaigns, blog posts, and upcoming events
Uphold Rec Room Wellness’ values in tone, design, and message
Tools:
Access to Rec Room Wellness’ social media management platform (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Later, Buffer, or Canva)
Shared Google Drive folder with templates, brand assets, and past posts
Use of analytics dashboards for tracking engagement and campaign impact
Direct access to Rec Room Wellness’ social accounts (as assigned)
Content Style and Tone:
Empathetic & Inclusive: Centering diverse lived experiences and affirming language
Creative & Expressive: Infuse visuals and text with warmth, color, and imagination
Uplifting & Real: Share authentic stories and resources with hope and honesty
Playful but Purposeful: Use memes, reels, and trends that align with our wellness mission
Monthly Reports Include:
Top-performing posts and trends
Follower growth and community feedback
Post saves, shares, and click-throughs
Opportunities for cross-promotion or campaign alignment
Requirements
Skills & Qualities:
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to track multiple tasks and follow up diplomatically.
Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented.
Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Other Requirements:

Consistency and reliability (5-10 hours weekly, depending on role)
