We currently serve top commercial banks across Nigeria and Africa, and we are actively building toward expansion into the United States, Europe, and Asian markets. Our portfolio covers a range of financial technologyproducts;each built around the operational and regulatory realities of the institutions that depend on them.
Own end-to-end business development with tier-1 and tier-2 banks, payment processors, acquirers,payment switch operators, and all relevant clients.
Identify and engage the right stakeholders inside target institutions: Head of Cards, Head of Payment Operations, CTO, CRO, and Compliance leadership
Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes from first meeting through technical due diligence, procurement, and contract close
Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of financial institution prospects across the region
Represent SterlingProproducts at industry events, fintech association forums, and regulatory engagement sessions
Work closely with the technical team to translate product capability into institution-specific business cases and integration proposals
Manage existing bank relationships to drive product expansion within deployed institutions
Report directly to leadership with clear pipeline metrics, forecast, and deal progression
Job Qualifications and Criteria
B.Sc. in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline is required.
The candidate must be based in Lagos; proximity to Maryland is an advantage.
Candidates must not be older than 28 years as at last birthday.

Sales and Business Development:
Prior experience selling technology, software, or financial products to institutional clients is a strong advantage. A demonstrable track record of closing deals, managing pipelines, and growing client relationships is more important to us than years of experience alone. Familiarity with how banks, payment processors, or financial institutions evaluate and procure technology solutions will set a candidate apart.
The role covers our full product portfolio, so the ability to understand multiple solutions,identify the right product for each client's needs, and articulate value clearly across different contexts is essential.
Communication and Presentation:
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The candidate must be comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders, writing proposals, and representing the company in client meetings and industry events. Being socially adept, personable, and professionally confident in rooms with decision-makers is a core part of this role.
Thinking and Analysis
We value candidates who think strategically, research thoroughly, and approach problems with structure and curiosity. Good numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and the ability to build a coherent business case from market information are all relevant here.
Organisation and Execution:
The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain quality under pressure is important.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related productivity tools is required.
Strong time management and the ability to triage responsibilities without losing sight of the bigger picture will serve this person well.
Leadership:
While this is primarily an individual contributor role with significant autonomy, the successful candidate will be expected to provide direction and mentorship to a wider sales team over time.
The ability to lead by example, communicate expectations clearly, and bring out the best in others is valued.
