Job Title: Senior Sales Officer, Institutional Sales

Location: Lagos
Reports To: Head of Sales

Job Purpose

  • To aid and support the Head of Business Development and the Managing Director of the Asset Management Unit in growing Assets Under Management (AUM), leading to increased business and revenue in a profitable and cost-effective manner.
  • To understand client investment needs and objectives and identify opportunities to provide suitable investment solutions.
  • To aggressively pitch for new institutional businesses to ensure consistent AUM and revenue growth.
  • To efficiently manage existing institutional clients and ensure repeat business.

Job Context

  • The role requires a customer-centric and network-oriented professional with the ability to address and escalate issues to the Head of Business Development and Managing Director to ensure strong customer relationships and superior service delivery.
  • The incumbent is expected to manage and provide information on the institutional aspect of the business efficiently.
  • Strong supervision and presentation skills are required.
  • The role demands maintaining excellent relationships with Relationship Managers to generate business leads.
  • The position also involves selling investment solutions and developing marketing initiatives to grow AUM in the institutional space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve targeted sales goals and performance metrics using available resources
  • Develop marketing strategies for institutional business and execute implementation plans
  • Maintain strong relationships with Relationship Managers to drive AUM and revenue growth
  • Ensure prompt resolution of client queries to enhance client satisfaction
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Prospect, cold call, and follow up on marketing leads
  • Respond to client and prospect inquiries effectively
  • Coordinate one-on-one meetings with prospects
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations of investment products
  • Manage sales opportunities from initial contact to closure
  • Negotiate and close business contracts
  • Collaborate with banking groups to execute marketing activities and communications
  • Monitor market intelligence including trends, competition, and sales updates.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • SEC license required.

Experience:

  • 4–7 years of sales/marketing experience with a strong track record in selling investment products
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with client organizations
  • Sound knowledge of the investment and banking sector
  • Strong product knowledge across various asset classes
  • Customer-focused and results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to mobilize resources to deliver customer solutions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
