Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable standards
• Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper recording and reconciliation of transactions
• Develop budgets, monitor performance, and provide financial forecasts
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet items, and key accounts
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting standards, and statutory requirements
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and responses
• Handle tax filings, VAT returns, and statutory obligations accurately and on time
• Implement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets
• Monitor cash flow, manage liquidity, and optimize financial resources
• Provide insights on financial performance and trends to support decision-making
• Utilize accounting systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
• Collaborate with management and departments to provide financial guidance.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Applicants with outstanding academic performance are highly preferred
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is required
• A Master’s degree (MBA or MSc in Finance/Accounting) is an added advantage
• 8–10 years progressive experience in accounting or finance in an FMCG or multinational environment
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong background in general ledger management and account reconciliation
• Experience in tax planning, compliance, and statutory reporting
• Familiarity with internal controls, audit processes, and risk management
