Job Title: Business Development Manager – Security Services Industry

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

  • The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding the company’s client base, and strengthening strategic relationships within the security services industry.
  • The role involves identifying business opportunities, securing contracts, managing client relationships, preparing proposals, and supporting the organization’s overall growth strategy.
  • The ideal candidate must possess strong marketing and negotiation skills, deep knowledge of the security industry, and the ability to convert prospects into long-term clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within corporate, residential, industrial, government, and commercial sectors.
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and sales plans to achieve company revenue targets.
  • Generate leads through networking, cold calling, referrals, and market research.
  • Prepare and deliver professional business presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements in line with company policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Conduct regular client visits to understand security needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Handle client inquiries, complaints, and service concerns professionally.
  • Ensure high client retention through excellent relationship management.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the security industry.
  • Recommend innovative service offerings and business strategies to improve market positioning.
  • Participate in industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums to promote the company brand.
  • Work closely with operations and HR teams to ensure smooth onboarding and deployment of security personnel for new contracts.
  • Support contract implementation and ensure service delivery aligns with agreed standards.
  • Assist management in developing pricing strategies and service packages.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports.
  • Maintain an updated database of leads, prospects, and client engagements.
  • Track sales performance against targets and provide management with actionable insights.

Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years cognate experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the security services industry or related service industry.
  • Proven track record of winning contracts and achieving sales targets.

Age Requirement:

  • Applicants must be between 25–40 years of age.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to prepare professional proposals and presentations.
  • Good understanding of security operations and industry dynamics.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet targets.
