Job Title: Corporate Finance and Accounting Specialist (Senior)
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
The Corporate Finance & Accounting Specialist is a high-impact finance leadership role responsible for driving the financial strategy, analytical rigour, and accounting integrity of Konstructum Contracting Company and its affiliated entities.
Sitting at the intersection of technical accounting, corporate finance, and strategic decision support, this role translates complex financial data into actionable intelligence that shapes capital allocation, project investment decisions, and long-term shareholder value.
A defining requirement for this role is advanced financial modelling capability.
The specialist will architect multi-dimensional models underpinning project feasibility assessments, bid submissions, M&A evaluations, and investor reporting across EPC, infrastructure, and energy-related engagements.
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, yet strategically minded finance professional who commands both the precision of a seasoned accountant and the forward-looking perspective of a corporate finance strategist.
Builds, owns, and continuously refines integrated financial models (3-statement models, DCF, LBO, project finance models) to support strategic and operational decisions.
Develops detailed project financial models for EPC bids, infrastructure proposals, and capital investment appraisals — incorporating scenario, sensitivity, and Monte Carlo analyses.
Structures model frameworks for joint ventures, PPP engagements, and M&A transactions to quantify risk-adjusted returns and evaluate deal economics.
Translates model outputs into executive-ready presentations, investment memos, and board-level financial narratives.
Maintains a model library of reusable templates aligned with KCC’s project typologies, ensuring consistency and audit-readiness across submissions.
Corporate Finance & Capital Strategy:
Supports the CFO in evaluating and executing capital raising activities, including debt structuring, project finance facilities, and equity instruments.
Conducts business valuations using multiple methodologies (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions) to inform strategic transactions and shareholder reporting.
Analyses capital structure options and recommends optimal financing strategies aligned with project risk profiles and corporate leverage targets.
Partners with the Legal team on financial due diligence for joint ventures, acquisitions, and commercial agreements.
Monitors market conditions, interest rate environments, and credit markets to advise on financing timing and instrument selection.
Financial Reporting & Accounting Integrity:
Oversees the preparation of periodic financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable Nigerian GAAP requirements.
Ensures month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes are executed with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Reviews and approves journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and consolidation workings across group entities.
Maintains the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts; drives continuous improvements in accounting processes and controls.
Leads the coordination of external audit exercises — serving as the primary finance liaison to auditors and managing all deliverables to conclusion.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management:
Coordinates the annual budgeting process across all business units and project entities — consolidating inputs into a group-wide financial plan.
Develops rolling forecasts and reforecast models that dynamically reflect project execution realities, cost variances, and revenue recognition updates.
Designs and maintains management reporting dashboards and KPI frameworks that enable leadership to track financial performance against plan.
Conducts project-level cost analysis, variance investigation, and earned value assessments for active EPC and infrastructure projects.
Partners with Project Managers and Commercial teams to align financial tracking with physical project progress milestones.
Treasury, Cash Management & Working Capital:
Manages daily treasury operations including cash positioning, bank reconciliations, payment approvals, and intercompany settlements.
Develops short and medium-term cash flow forecasting models and monitors liquidity headroom against operational requirements.
Oversees working capital cycle optimisation — identifying opportunities to improve debtor collections, creditor management, and inventory financing.
Manages banking relationships and ensures effective utilisation of credit facilities, bonds, and guarantees across project portfolios.
Tax Planning & Regulatory Compliance:
Ensures full compliance with Nigerian tax obligations including CIT, WHT, VAT, PAYE, and transfer pricing requirements.
Coordinates with tax consultants on annual tax computations, deferred tax provisioning, and relief applications.
Monitors regulatory developments from FIRS, CAC, SEC, and other relevant bodies and advises management on their financial implications.
Supports tax planning initiatives to optimise the group’s effective tax rate while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Reporting & Board Support:
Prepares high-quality financial reports, board packs, and investor presentations that communicate financial performance with clarity and credibility.
Supports the CFO and Executive Chairman with financial analysis for board submissions, strategic planning sessions, and shareholder updates.
Interfaces with lenders, investors, and development finance institutions (DFIs) on financial information requests, covenant compliance, and reporting obligations.
