Job Title: Business Development Manager

Purpose
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, identifying and developing new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, expanding market share, and positioning the Group as a preferred service provider across its business portfolio.
The role involves developing strategic partnerships, preparing winning proposals, negotiating contracts, and leading initiatives that contribute to sustainable organizational growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Revenue Generation:
Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target industries.
Generate qualified leads and convert prospects into profitable clients.
Develop annual sales and business development plans.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
Market Research & Intelligence:
Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends.
Monitor competitor activities and recommend appropriate business strategies.
Identify new market segments for expansion.
Analyze customer needs and provide market intelligence to management.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Serve as the primary contact for key accounts.
Conduct regular client visits and business review meetings.
Improve customer retention through excellent relationship management.
Proposal Development & Tender Management:
Identify tender opportunities from both public and private sectors.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals.
Coordinate bid submissions and ensure compliance with client requirements.
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and service agreements.
Strategic Partnerships:
Develop partnerships with organizations, government agencies, NGOs, multinational companies, and strategic investors.
Represent the company at conferences, exhibitions, networking events, and trade fairs.
Establish alliances that support long-term business growth.
Sales Pipeline Management:
Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
Track opportunities using CRM tools.
Prepare weekly and monthly pipeline reports.
Ensure timely follow-up on all business opportunities.
Marketing Support:
Collaborate with the marketing team to implement campaigns that generate leads.
Provide market feedback for branding and promotional activities.
Support digital marketing initiatives that increase visibility.
Financial Performance:
Prepare sales forecasts and revenue projections.
Monitor profitability of business opportunities.
Recommend pricing strategies that maximize profit margins.
Ensure achievement of departmental budget.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly business development reports.
Present performance updates to executive management.
Maintain accurate records of client engagements and contracts.
Compliance & Corporate Governance:
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.
Uphold ethical business practices in all engagements.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management, or a related discipline.
MBA or Master's Degree in Business Administration or Marketing is an added advantage.
Professional certification in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development (CIM, NIMN, ISM, PMP, etc.) is an added advantage.
Experience:
5–8 years progressive experience in business development, sales, marketing, or strategic partnerships.
At least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue and business growth targets.
Experience preparing proposals, tenders, and negotiating commercial contracts.
Experience in diversified business environments is an advantage.
