Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Lagos

Role Overview

• We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer that impacts Verto by driving active development, designing robust RESTful APIs, and building highly scalable web applications and cloud services. 
• The work directly contributes to the company's system architecture and fosters innovation through prototyping new ideas.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Engaging in active development assignments
• Designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Collaborating with a team to develop and test highly scalable web applications and services
• Contributing to the overall system architecture
• Prototyping and implementing new ideas
• Leveraging modern AI tools and software engineering assistants efficiently to accelerate development workflows, maximize code quality, and optimize day-to-day productivity.

What You Need

• 4+ years of professional experience in object-oriented languages
• Significant experience with NodeJS
• Knowledge of modern web application building libraries like Angular
• Working knowledge of developing scalable distributed cloud applications on AWS or other cloud platforms
• Strong skills in MySQL and relational databases
• An AI-driven approach to software engineering, featuring a strong understanding of tokenization, prompt optimization, and how to unlock the full potential of various developer-focused AI models without wasting context windows or tokens.
• Clear communication and articulation skills.

Best If You Have:

• Experience with the MEAN/MERN stack
• Experience with fintech industry
• Worked in an early stage or growing stage start-up
• Majority experience with product-based companies
• Awareness of modern trends in distributed software application development
• Experience with various development tools, including AWS Codebuild, git, npm, Visual Studio Code, Serverless framework, Swagger Specs, Angular, Flutter, AWS Lambda, MongoDB, Redis, SQS, and Kafka.

About the Interview Process:

• It will have a video assignment, chat with the talent team, an online assessment round, tech round with a tech lead, and final round with our Head of Tech or Growth Engineering
