We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: 3PL Truck Sourcing Officer

Location: Lagos

About Role

• To identify, negotiate, and secure third-party logistics trucks to meet the company’s transportation and distribution requirements. The role ensures timely truck availability, cost optimization, and the development of a reliable network of transport vendors to support efficient logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and onboard third-party (3PL) trucks in line with operational and dispatch schedules
• Build and maintain strong relationships with transport companies and independent truck owners
• Negotiate competitive haulage rates to ensure cost efficiency without compromising service quality
• Ensure timely deployment of trucks for scheduled pick-ups and deliveries
• Develop and maintain an updated database of approved truck vendors and transport partners
• Liaise daily with transport providers to confirm truck availability, capacity, and readiness
• Monitor market trends in haulage rates, truck availability, and logistics operations
• Prepare and submit regular reports on sourcing activities, vendor performance, and market intelligence

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an OND, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 1–2 years of experience in truck sourcing, logistics coordination, or transport operations
• Existing network of transport companies and truck owners is a strong advantage
• Proven experience in negotiation, vendor management, and cost control

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Excellent communication, persuasion, and relationship-building skills
• Good knowledge of Lagos haulage market, routes, and transport trends
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure
• Proficiency in MS Excel and logistics tracking tools
