Job Description

• The position of the Bursar, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), will be vacant with effect from 23rd September, 2016. In this regard, and in accordance with the provisions of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Decree No. 11 of 1993 and the Amendment Decree No. 25 of 1996, the University wishes to commence the process for the appointment of the University Bursar.
• Applications are invited from suitably-qualified candidates for the position of the Bursar, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, which will be vacant on 23rd September, 2016.

The Position

• The University Bursar is a Principal Officer and, in accordance with the University Act, the Chief Finance Officer of the Unrversity
• He is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs & the University.

The Person

• Applicants for this key management position must be candidates with vision, proven profeslonaI distinction, managerial ability, integrity, emotional stability and transparency In private and public life; who should be able to provide the University Administration with effective and efficient financial advice.
• The right candidate should also have the ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the needs of the Universitç command respect and engender the co-operation and loyalty of staff and students of the lnstitution.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a good honours Degree in Accounting from a recognised University. Possession of a higher Degree in a relevant field will be an advantage.
• Candidates should also possess a professional qualification such as ACA, CNA, ACCA, CPA, ACNA or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant post-qualification experience, five (5) of which must be as a Deputy Bursar/Deputy Director In a tertiary institution.
• Candidates must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of a good Accounting package.

Salary
The University Bursarshall hold officefor a slngleterm of five(S) yearsonlyon such termsand conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment. The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Bursar in all Nigerian Federal Universities and as may be determined by the Governing Council of the Universit as appropriate. Fringe benefits include a Pension in consonance with the Contributory Pension Scheme and appropriate allowances as may be approved from time-to-time by the Governing Council,
